This memorial website was created in the memory of our beloved only child, Augusto Carlos Valdes Camara III, who was born in Houston, Texas on September 24, 1978. He passed away on March 17th, 2006 at the age of 27. The number of people whose lives were touched by Augusto during his short lifetime are as numerous as the stars in the sky. We will remember him forever!

Augusto Visits Mom on her birthday: January 17, 2007
When Binky, Augusto's mom, was in the Philippines for his 40th day remembrance of passing away, a manzanita tree was planted in his honor by his grandfather,at the Valdes family home . As the tree was being planted, a green spotted butterfly with a black outline, and an orange head suddenly flew from out of the tree, and hovered around playfully for Binky, and to the family's delight.
Again this same green butterfly appeared to Binky at home ,a month later on Mother's Day. She was sitting on the garden chair thinking about her first Mother's Day without him when suddenly it flew in ,fluttering and dancing about among the plants, as if to tell her, "Here I am Mom, Happy Mother's Day!."
Last January 17th, his Mom's birthday, she wanted nothing for her birthday, BUT a sign from Augusto that he was in Heaven... Later as she did her daily visit to his crypt, around 3:30 PM, this same green butterfly appeared again! Gently hovering on the ground, and darting about on the wet walkway, as if to say, "Here's your sign, Mom. Happy Birthday!" Mom, with tears of joy in her eyes, took a picture of this green butterfly with her cellphone camera while happily talking to him! Augusto, thanks for giving Mom the most beautiful and precious birthday gift!(Do you see the butterfly?Do you see Augusto's head shadow?)
Enjoy the movies! They bring back great memories of Augusto!
After his 3 year teaching stint, in Fukuoka, Japan,in 2004, Augusto was given a huge Surprise dinner by the faculty in recognition for his outstanding work at Chikushi-Chuo School .The following morning they asked Augusto to give his Sayonara and address the whole student body, which he did in Japanese. Augusto loved the school and his work there . Below is a movie of the events of those two days. Just click on the link below, the movie should play automatically. Enjoy!
Our last family picture taken together on September 24, 2005, which was also Augusto's birthday. This was the day of Dad's concert with Four Doctors, a Patient, and an Idol for the Aloha Medical Mission.
This is a picture of Augusto's decorated crypt site at Diamond Head Memorial Park on his birthday. September 24, 1978 was the happiest moment of our lives when he was born. He brought us nothing but happiness and pride for the 27 years he was with us.
A poem for Augusto
Do not weep upon my passing, Do not mourn as I leave. Save your tears my loved ones, Save your sorrow and grief, For I have gone to a better place, And I am quite happy here. But still, I shall always be with you, So you have no need to fear.
Do not weep upon my passing, But rejoice as I move on. To be judged for all I am, And for all that I have done.
Do not weep upon my passing, Do not tarry over my death. Celebrate your own lives, And cherish every breath.

Aloha, Mahalo, and God bless all of you! Thanks to all of you who have visited, and to those who have lit candles and offered tributes. We love you! To those that have lost a loved one the way we lost Augusto, we feel your every pain and loneliness and hope you realize that you are not alone....God is there with you all as He is closest to the broken-hearted.
Thank you for visiting his Website! To this day, we have a Bathroom Guestbook, which visitors to our home would fill up (when they used the bathroom). Augusto loved writing in this book when he was growing up, and would frequently make an entry himself in this book, using a pseudonym. In his memory, please do leave a brief message on his site, he would certainly love that!
Aloha! Have a great day, and enjoy life for it is indeed short!
Enjoy the videos! To play them, download Windows Media Player at the bottom of the "Audio and Video" page. This is the latest version. Then, click on the videos.
